The 5yndicate is a team of villains who have alien technology powered up by the Radiants. In order to keep using their tech to carry out their crimes, they have to keep recharging by draining the energy from the Radiant heroes! The team is made up of 5 different villains (hence the 5 in their name), and with this character deck, they’re all working together!
When you open up The 5yndicate, you’ll notice some extra cards– 13 in total! Each of the members of the 5yndicate is represented on one of your 5 abilities, and you’ll get two different versions of each of your attacks. Before the game starts, you’ll pick one of each pair, saving the others for later. Whenever you play Rest, you can make an adjustment on the fly, switching to a different one of your abilities.
Mecha is the heavy-hitter of the 5yndicate, and he can pulverize your enemies into the ground with his repeatable 2-damage ability. If you find that your enemy is blocking or countering you well enough that you can’t rely on Pulverize, you can swap it out to Indestructible which offers both offensive and defensive power.
Shift is the head of the 5yndicate and his deadly demeanor makes him the Weapon of the team. He can teleport through your defenses with an unblockable 3 damage, and later in the game when your enemy has unlocked their Ultimate, he can simply shut it down by draining all its power. Don’t take it personally, it’s just business.

The 5yndicate’s tech is powered by the Radiants, and their Ultimate is directly powered by your opponent’s energy. Your enemy will want to spend their energy as soon as they can to keep your own ultimate low, but that predictableness can be punished with a well-timed block, or a counter from Shift. Enemy characters that are dependent on getting a high level of energy to turn on their moves will just be helping out the 5yndicate!
